Litter along the streets and elsewhere inevitably finds its way into the Sycamore Greenway, flowing in with stormwater or blowing in on windy days. It can also be carried via other stormwater systems into our streams and rivers, where it can harm wildlife.
If you can, bring a bag and pick up litter when you are out for a walk. If you are unable to, or if you see a patch that has a lot of litter and could use attention, use the form below to request a small cleanup by volunteers.
Note: we can only offer cleanups within the South District of Iowa City (south of Highway 6 and west of the river. Cleanups will only be done in city parks and trails or in the rights-of-way along sidewalks and streets. For private property, please contact the appropriate property owner or manager.
